With the typical January bite of mother natures frigid teeth missing this weekend, a brisk Saturday and slightly warmer Sunday made for some incredible race watching. Bass Park, just behind the Cross Insurance Center hosted this snowmobile racing event in epic proportion! Various classes competed on both days providing nearly non-stop snow slinging action all morning and afternoon. I was fortunate to have been asked to photograph the event for the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau. While the Junior 8-10 class brought smiles and cheers from the stands as they powered the micro sleds around the course the electrifying heavyweights in the Pro Open had spectators plugging their ears and gasping at the altitude and distance those machines flew through the air! Certainly a great turnout and a ton of fun had by all.
